Barangay Leaders' Assembly

In order to conduct a General Assembly with the people, the group decided to first conduct a 'Barangay Leaders' Assembly' in order to present the results of the data to the barangay officials/leaders', and for them to aid the medical students in facilitating the community people during the activity 'General Assembly'.

House-House Survey

In our efforts to be one with the people, conducting house-to-house surveys have become our strongest foundation to be able to bridge the stereotyped gaps the people have for us. This way we can disclose to them that we are not different and that we are very much willing to open up to them and listen to their stories, learn their ways and most importantly address their individual problems and/or concerns.

One of the main objective of this exposure, is to conduct a Community General Assembly with the residents of the community. In order to present the results of the house-to-house survey; and for the people to identify and prioritize the problems within the community, and if possible, to provide solutions to solve the ranked problems.

Mini Lecture

The group in partnership with Mam Carmelita, the daycare teacher, and the mothers of the daycare students; conducted a mini-lecture that was entitled 'Limpyong Lawas, Maayung Lawas', which basically means that 'Proper Hygiene is a component of being Healthy'. During the activity, the group gave lecture regarding Proper Handwashing, and Proper Toothbrushing; and performed a demonstration of how to do so. In order to evaluate the children's learning, there was a return demonstration at the end of the activity.

Presentation of Survey Results to the Sangguniang Bayan

In order to improve the proposed plans and projects effectively, it is essential to create a collaboration and linkages with the municipal officials of Mahayag. During this activity, the group presented to the Sangguniang Bayan Council, the results of the survey that was conducted during the exposure, and the prioritized problems by the community people.

Mass Blood Pressure Measurement

The first community exposure, we had our BP apparatuses and stethoscopes along with us almost all the time, every time we visit houses, offices, and even primary schools. We have noticed that most of the residents have high blood pressure readings, which was one of our concern. Thereby, the group conducted a 'Mass BP Taking', in order to document residents with high readings, and conduct health teachings in order to prevent complications or worsening of their general condition.
